Apple Health not connecting

Apple Health is the simplest way to get workouts from Garmin, Polar, Hammerhead, Corros, Apple Watch and most other devices into Cadence Fuel. If the connection is not working, here is what to check.

Grant access in the Health app

Cadence Fuel needs explicit permission to read from Apple Health. If you skipped the permission prompt during setup, or tapped Do Not Allow, go to:

Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Cadence Fuel

Make sure Workouts, Active Energy, and Body Weight are all switched on for reading. Without Workouts access, sessions will not appear.

Check that your device is syncing to Apple Health

Cadence Fuel reads from Apple Health — it does not connect to your device directly. If your Garmin, Wahoo, or other device has not synced to Apple Health, Cadence Fuel will not see the data. Open the Apple Health app and check that your workouts are appearing there first.

For Garmin devices, syncing requires the Garmin Connect app to be installed and your phone to be nearby. For Wahoo, the Wahoo Fitness app handles the sync.

Apple Health is only available on iPhone

Apple Health does not exist on iPad or Mac. Cadence Fuel's Health integration is iPhone only. If you are on Android, use Health Connect instead — the setup is similar.

The permission prompt did not appear

If you tapped Connect in My Connections but no Apple Health permission screen appeared, it may have been dismissed previously. Permissions can only be requested once per app install. Go to Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > Cadence Fuel and set the permissions manually.

Still not working after granting access

Close the app fully, then reopen it. Cadence Fuel reads Health data on launch. If workouts are in Apple Health and permissions are correct, they should appear after a fresh open.
